A note on the ICF (International Coaching Federation): The ICF is not a government agency. They are self-appointed. They are not regulated or overseen by any federal, state or local government agency. Coaching is not a government regulated industry. Coaching is not part of the allied health field or the fields of counseling, therapy, or clinical psychology. We feel the ICF has good intentions, but does not in any way mandate policies or procedures for our industry. The Spencer Institute does have approvals and recognitions of several agencies, associations and governing bodies. We feel this illustrates our quality of program design and institutional integrity.
