Do I need Internet access to be a student?
Internet access is not required, but surely will make communication with your advisors easier. There are some assignments that may require you to do small amounts of research. The Web will greatly simplify this process. When you graduate, the Internet is your greatest asset for developing a successful coaching practice.
Can you list all that I receive when I enroll in the Life Strategies Coaching Certification Program?
With your Spencer Institute Life Strategies Tool Box, you will receive the following: CD ROM Coaching Manual,your text for the course: Allen Sargent's "The Other Mind's Eye," Essentials of Life Strategies Coaching DVD, Stress Management DVD, Stress Free Music CD, four audio CD lessons, toll free technical support, all mailing costs (int'l students be charged a shipping fee), and your certificate.
What if I live outside the United States?
Anyone can complete our programs regardless of their physical location. All materials are in English and assignments must be submitted in English as well.
How long does the training program take to complete?
This will vary from person to person because of previous experience and time availability. It should take the average person between 4-6 months to complete all the phases. You can finish it in any length of time beyond three months. This is the minimum time requirement.
What are the graduation requirements?
Each student must complete all course requirements at a satisfactory level. If any single area of study needs further refinement, you will be notified. This "refinement" can be satisfied by a phone interview, clarification on an assignment, or both. Once all of the student's requirements are met, your certificate will be issued.
What educational background do I need to become a coach?
Some coaches have a degree, advanced degree or designation, but there is no correlation between a particular degree and success as a coach. Clients want you and what you can do for them. They're not buying degrees; they are buying expertise and results. A degree is helpful, but not required. Many professionals with varied certifications transition very well into life strategies coaching.
